I like it because it's a very beautiful name. My best friend and her husband searched for unique baby names and finally decided to name their daughter Suri who is now 11 years old. As a fan of Tom Cruise I think he chose a nice name for his little girl unlike other celebrities who pick ridiculous ones for their children such as Apple, Bear or North.

I don't want to be rude, but as a native Hebrew speaker, the Hebrew word for princess is "Nesiha", I don't think Suri is a synonym or anything, never heard of this word before hearing about Suri Cruise. Yet, Avshalom Kor is the one of the most famous linguists in Israel, so he's probably right about Suri being a nickname for Sara.
